Dear Esteemed Adventures Reader,
After an intense application season and many passionate debates (yes, even a few friendly arguments!), we’re thrilled to introduce the Adventures Creators Fellowship Class of 2025!
Each year, we’re blown away by the sheer talent, boldness, and brilliance of the writers and visual artists who apply to join our program. Choosing just a few from such a powerhouse pool is never easy—and this year was no exception. Thank you to everyone who applied. It’s both an honour and a heartache: the joy of seeing how deeply this work resonates, and the ache of not being able to say “yes” to every single incredible applicant.
As always, our final cohort came together in the most unexpected (and thrilling!) way. The Nigerian creators came in hot this year—snatching the whole board game, dice and all. But let’s raise a big cheer for Ghana’s own Sharon-Liz, our visual artist creator, who held it down and made sure the entire takeover wasn’t complete!
Our 2025 theme is “My Feminism Is…”
With the global rollback of feminist and SRHR gains, and the rising tide of right-wing ideology that threatens to erase marginalized voices, this theme couldn’t feel more urgent—or more powerful. We believe in this class’s ability to speak truth to power, shake tables, and use their chosen art forms as both sword and shield—telling the stories that matter and shaping the future we all deserve as daughters of the Continent.
So, without further ado, please join us in celebrating and welcoming the fearless, fabulous Class of 2025:
