So all the recent conversations we’ve had here on genital warts and HPV motivated me to email a Dr friend to ask her for the lowdown on the virus and this is what she said:
Genital warts are caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) strains 6 and 11. Cervical cancer is caused mainly by strains 16 and 18. There are 2 cervical cancer jabs one can take to guard against HPV: Cervirax which protects only against 16 and 18 and Gardesil which protects against all four of those strains. So the first point is if you want to get a vaccination against HPV then you need to make sure you’re getting the right vaccination.

I’m fairly willing to bet that if you ask the majority of mature women what makes for great sex, they’d say it all boils down to confidence. I haven’t read any studies on that theory or conducted an extensive poll supported that idea, but in speaking to women my age at least (those in their 30’s), they would say confidence is key to having really good sex.

I got my results from Medlab today…I had gone into the lab last Thursday and requested for a “fasting blood sugar” and HIV test. This is the third HIV test I have taken in my life and each time I have had several “mini deaths” whilst waiting for the results. Last week Nana and I went to the sex shop when she visited Atlanta. She has revealed on this blog that she has an “aversion” (if you can call it that) to going to Ghanaian sex shops and might feel more comfortable visiting one in the states.
