Chapter 3

It has been two months since I began my journey of sexual liberation, and it has been very illuminating. I never imagined that my body was capable of giving me so much pleasure. Everything I have been told about sex and how a woman should feel about it is like a distant memory as I explore more. I have been perusing more stories and articles on the AdventuresFrom website, and it has been illuminating.

Reading “The Power of Knowing your Body” helped me to know more about my body sexually, and understanding how it reacts to stimuli has been a game-changer for me.

For a while, using my fingers to pleasure myself was enough. After I swallowed my embarrassment and spoke to my best friend Serwaa about my lack of proper sexual experience even after 10 years of marriage, she has encouraged me to be more comfortable around men. We go out at least once a week, sometimes alone and sometimes with other friends of hers of both sexes. At first, being flirted with made me nervous, but now I’ve become comfortable around men enough to casually flirt back. It was kind of fun and interesting once I got over my nerves and learned to play along.

Although I felt some attraction here and there in the first month, I wasn’t ready to be with a man. Serwaa suggested sex toys, but after a google search I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of options. Some of the toys looked very scary and uncomfortable. I finally had an epiphany and went back to the adventuresfrom website to search for any information about sex toys. After browsing through the search results, I clicked on: Sex Toys: A Journey To Self-Pleasure, Intimacy and Sex. The article gave me a lot of insight about what to do, and I eventually purchased a bullet vibrator since it looked the least scary and the simplest for me to start with. Serwaa also purchased a small red dildo for me to try out later.

I figured out very quickly that reading sex stories got me aroused, so my evenings and some mornings are spiced up by reading sex stories on my phone from adventuresfrom.com, which I now jokingly call my Sexual Liberation Portal. This morning I read Candy while stimulating my clit with my vibrator and fingering myself. Reading the story made me so horny that I finally got the courage to use the dildo that Serwaa gifted me. There was a moment of anxiety while the head hovered over my wet hungry lips, but I was so aroused that I got over my indecisiveness. I inserted the dildo slowly, moaning softly at the delicious intrusion into my heat. The feeling was indescribable. Thrusting it in and out of my vagina in languid strokes, while imagining myself in Dela’s position being nailed by young Femi in my office, gave me the best orgasm I’ve had so far, and now I think I’m ready for the real deal. I want to be adventurous enough to find a man I’m attracted to and bring him back here to do all those things I imagined being done to me.

Just thinking about it makes me horny and I feel myself getting wet again. I purchased condoms when I went out in the afternoon to shop for groceries, knowing that I have the best opportunity to bring a man home tonight. Serwaa and her husband Nii are hosting a small cocktail party in their apartment, and she assured me that there will be a lot of delicious single men there I might like.

After clasping my necklace on, I admire my reflection in the mirror,  feeling  hot and sexy in my cherry red jumpsuit with a tube top and skin-tight trouser bottom that accentuates my hourglass figure. My natural hair is swept away from my face in a high fro, my makeup is subtle but perfect and my feet are clad in heeled silver sandals with criss crossing straps. Spraying a few spritzes of my DKNY Be Delicious perfume, I pick up my clutch purse and head down to my waiting Uber.

The admiring stares I get from my apartment to the vehicle boost my confidence even further, making me arrive at the party in a great mood. The first hour is fun, filled with drinking and eating finger food. I do my best to interact as well, exchanging contact numbers with people from both sexes, and flirting with some of the single men. I like quite a few of them, but I don’t feel any strong attraction until I see him. He is on the other side of the room, standing near the bar with Nii and laughing at something Nii is saying. He looks about six feet tall, light-skinned with a sculpted face that is more pretty than handsome. Dressed in all black, there is something about the way he is standing and carrying himself that gives off what I’ve learned is called BDE.

He is African, but I can tell immediately that he is not Ghanaian. Although about half of the guests are Ghanaian, the party is a mixture of friends and colleagues of different races and Africans of different descent. When our eyes suddenly meet across the room, I feel the attraction like a caress. Slightly disconcerted, I look away and excuse myself from my current conversation to find Serwaa.

“Who is that with Nii?” I demand in a whisper when I see her, making sure not to glance there myself. “Oh, that’s Nii’s South African friend. He is one of his closest friends so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of him now that he’s back from his trip home.”

I want to ask more questions, but one of her guests calls Serwaa and she has to leave me. The attraction I feel toward him is so strong that it makes me nervous, considering that I haven’t even been close to him, and I spend the next thirty minutes avoiding being in the same spot as him. Not because I don’t want to speak to him, but because I want to use flirting with other men as practice before I approach him. It might be wishful thinking, but I think I’ve seen him look my way once or twice.

Feeling my phone vibrate in my purse, I leave the party in the living area and open the door to the balcony to receive the call quietly. It is Clara, an American I have befriended in my building. After speaking to her, I decided to relax a bit by leaning on the rails, watching the street below. The balcony is dimly lit, so although I can see outside, it will be harder for anyone outside to see into it.

After a few minutes, I think I’m ready to go and find the man I want in my bed tonight. Just the thought of having that man in my bed makes me wet, so I know I’m ready.

I turn around when I hear the balcony door open behind me. I’m surprised when I see the newcomer.  It’s him, the South African I’ve been fantasising about for the past hour. I swallow my surprise and nerves at suddenly having him so close.

“Oh, hello there.” His voice is deep, and it does something to me that I can’t explain.

“Hi,” I reply, embarrassed when my voice comes out in a squeak. Looking away nervously, I move back a little to give him space on the balcony with me, ordering my jumpy nerves to calm down.

There is no need to panic. After all, he is just a man, and I have been interacting with men all evening; even flirting here and there. What makes this one so different?

I like that he doesn’t speak while I am trying to get myself together. When I am sure I can speak to him without making a fool of myself, I try a smile. He grins back at me, flashing white teeth that are so pristine that it could only have come from a dentist. “I’m Jake. It’s very nice to meet you.”

I can’t take my eyes off his face. “I’m Asantewaa.”

He grins wider. “I know.”

Laughing at my surprised look, he explains, “I already asked our hosts who the gorgeous woman in red is.”

Feeling slightly disconcerted, I look away from his probing eyes. “Oh.”

“Yeah. And I think I should give you a heads up. They told me to leave you alone.”

My eyes return to him in surprise, taking in the mischievous glint. “Why would they do that?”

“They think I’m too much of a playboy for a nice girl like you.”

I raised my brows. “Are you?”

He laughs again, and the laughter does more crazy things to me inside.
